The FH DaSL RoadShow

Welcome to the Fred Hutch Data Science Lab! The mission of the FH DaSL (pronounced “FH Dazzle”) is:

To coordinate data science activities, build community, make data easier to use, and create value for Hutch scientists with data resources, partnerships, philanthropy and infrastructure.

We view the DaSL as a service organization, our goal is to make data work better at the Hutch - from people, to processes, to technology. But to do that, we need to make sure we are getting to know people across the Hutch and working on the problems that matter to people most.

As a first step toward getting to know the Fred Hutch Community we are hosting a Roadshow! The FH DaSL will have an introductory talk to tell you a bit about who we are and what we are up to. Then we will visit each of the divisions to nerd out about data and get to know you! We will provide coffee and snacks for those who can join us in person and will live stream these events to the division to make sure you can chat with us even if you can’t make it in person! We are meeting each division so that we can learn the unique data challenges that face each different groups.

We will also be hosting a Hutch wide DaSL kickoff meeting. Jeff Leek will talk about the vision for the DaSL, you’ll get a chance to meet the DaSL team, and we will have a brief Q and A about data at the Hutch. Right after we’ll have a social and reception where you can hang out with the DaSL team over drinks and food.
